Pelli Choopulu Wins National Award

The 64th National Film Awards Jury announced the Best Telugu Film award of the year on Friday.

Hyderabad: Cheering Tollywood low budget Telugu film ‘Pelli Choopulu’ won a National award. The movie which was one of the big hits won IIFA award too. The 64th National Film Awards Jury announced the winners of the year on Friday. Pelli Choopulu won the awards in two categories.

The film was produced by Raj Kandukuri (Dharmapatha Creations), Yash Rangineni (Big Ten Cinemas), and directed by Tarun Bhaskar with Vijay Devarakonda and Reetu Verma as the lead. The film became the talk of the town.

The film won the Best Telugu Film award and an award in Best Dialogues category. Tarun Bhaskar who has written the punch line dialogues in the film was selected for the National award.

The movie ‘Satamanam Bhavathi’ won an award under the category of Best Wholesome Entertainment Film. The movie produced by Dil Raju and directed by Satish Vegnesh with family values as the central theme not only entertained the audience but also had good collections.

While Janatha Garage won the Best Choreography Award and Mohanlal was selected for the Special Jury Award.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar bagged the Best Actor Award for his action in Rustom and Sonam Kapoor starer Neerja was announced as the Best Hindi Feature Film.
