Pawan Kalyan to promote handlooms
- Agrees to be brand ambassador in Telugu States
Amaravati: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has agreed to be the brand ambassador for handlooms in the two Telugu States. A delegation of the weavers associations from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana met the hero-turned-politician in Hyderabad and briefed him on the problems they have been facing in the two States.
Moved by the sad state of affairs that the community is facing and lack of patronage for handlooms, Pawan Kalyan has promised them he would work for the promotion of handlooms in the two Telugu States. The delegates also explained to the hero how the governments were neglecting the use of handlooms and the weavers’ communities. They also explained in detail the recent suicides among the weavers’ families and requested the Jana Sena chief to fight for their welfare. They said that in the last two years, 45 weavers have committed suicide in AP and Telangana due to poverty and debts.
The weavers’ representatives, KN Murthy and Kurapati Ramesh led the delegation to Pawan Kalyan.
