Palvai urges TPCC revamp
- Demands removal of Ponnala
- Bemoans leaders leaving party
Hyderabad, January 15: Senior Congress leader and MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy today demanded that AICC revamp Telangana Congress party.
Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, Palvai said there was an urgent need for immediate change of leadership as the party bit dust in the recent general elections. He also stated that since many of the party leaders are switching loyalties to ruling TRS, the Congress high command should think of a change of guard at State level.
Govardhan Reddy suggested removal of those leaders who were causing immense loss to the party. The MP took exception to the Telangana Congress chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah for failing to prevent the leaders from crossing over to other parties. He said many Congress leaders have been urging the AICC to oust Lakshmaiah for poll debacle and his inability to stop the leaders from switching loyalties. He expressed dismay over many leaders quitting the Congress to join the ruling party for greener pastures. Despite keeping the promise of giving statehood to Telangana, the Congress managed to get only 21 seats in Telangana State, he deplored. Now it is the time for the leaders to come together to fight collectively on the problems. (NSS)
