‘P.V. Narasimha Rao Should Be Honoured With Bharat Ratna’
Hyderabad: On the occasion of former Prime Minister late P.V.Narasimha Rao’s Jayanthi, Telangana leaders urged central Government that he should be conferred with Bharat Ratna.
Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP V. Laxmikantha Rao demanded the same after garlanding PV’s statue.
Narasimha Rao, son of the soil of Karimnagar district, ushered in economic reforms in India which kept the country on right and development path, said Laxmikanth Rao.
Even after 13 years of his demise, his house has not been converted into museum as promised by politicians earlier.
He is well known for running minority government with great spirit from 1991-1996. He faced toughest challenges during his tenure as PM like terror attacks in Mumbai in 1993, Latur earth quake, terrorism in Punjab, naxals in Telangana, but he stood firm on his decisions and made the country move forward by introducing the reforms which made India bounce back from economic crisis.
On his 96th birthday, it is the duty of every Indian to remember this great personality from Telangana who was mainly responsible for India’s growth. He gave full backing to Manmohan Singh as Finance Minister and he was known as Chanakya for running a minority regime in a bold and creative manner.
