Owner held in raid on fake coconut oil unit
Hyderabad: The City Police Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone Team, along with Malakpet Police have raided a house near St. Dominics High School, Saleemnagar, and arrested the house owner Mahaveer Jain, who was preparing and selling adulterated/spurious coconut hair oil under the ‘Parachute’ brand name.
The additional Deputy Commissioner, Task Force, said in a press note that the accused Mahaveer Jain is a native of Rajasthan and residing at Chaitanyapuri, migrated to Hyderabad. Earlier, he had worked as labourer in MS Pipes Company at Jeedimetla, for seven years. Later he went to Delhi and worked in a phenol company Renuka Enterprises. Then he decided to earn easy money by manufacturing spurious products and supplying them in the market.
He took a house in Saleemnagar on rent for manufacturing the spurious coconut oil and phenol and running business in the name of Nakoda Enterprises (without any registration), for the last two months. He used to buy unbranded oil from local shops and after adulterating and filling it in Parachute coconut oil bottles, sold them in the market. He was also preparing and supplying adulterated phenol in the name of Nakoda Enterprises.
On credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone Team, apprehended Mahaveer Jain on Wednesday and seized over 4,000 empty coconut oil bottles, one oil filling machine, two barrels of coconut oil, one weighing machine, one heat gun, 200 duplicate Parachute labels, 70 filled Parachute oil bottles, 500 liters of phenol and other materials, one bag containing lids, one packing machine and Marico brand duplicate labels.
The accused along with seized property were handed over to SHO, Malakpet Police Station, for taking further action against him.
