Non-mention of role of students

  • Sonia in TSPSC syllabus deplored

Hyderabad:A�Stating that Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) is supposed to beA�a neutral body, former minister and Congress senior leader Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that it was unfortunate that there was no mention of role of the AICC president Sonia Gandhi, students and peoplesa�� organizations in the formation of separate Telangana state, in the syllabus of TSPSC Group-II notification.A�

Sridhar Babu released a book titled a�?Telangana Geographya�� written by Dr Anand Gopagoni in memory of former Speaker late Duddilla Sripada Rao on the occasion of Sripada Raoa��sA� birth anniversary on Wednesday at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Sridhar Babu said thatA�separate Telangana stateA�would not have become a reality without the involvementA� ofA� students and Sonia Gandhi. a�?But many writers are not mentioning about the role of students, peoplesa�� unions and Sonia Gandhi in their books on history of Telangana movement. It is unfortunatea�?, he deplored.

It was unfortunate that the TSPSC, which mentioned the role of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao in its syllabus for Group-II and other Group examinations conducted by it, forgot the role of the Congress party and other political parties in the Telangana movement, the former minister said.

He asked the TSPSC to include the students and Congress partya��s role in the formation of Telangana state. He asked KCR to tell as to what has happenedA� toA� one lakh jobsA� assured by himA� earlier. He said that he will continue to do charitable work in the name of his father Sripada Rao even in future.A�

Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Telangana Geography book writer Dr Anand stressed the need for introducing the geography subject at the Intermediate and Degree level in Telangana state. He said that except in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,A�all states haveA�introduced geography subject at Intermediate and Degree level long ago.A�

Youth Congress state president Anil Kumar Yadav said that the Congress party would strive to make the state government to introduceA� geography subject at the Intermediate and Degree level.

Congress leader and singer Dr Daruvu Ellanna alleged that several writers were not mentioning the role of students in the Telangana movement only to impress the Chief Minister.A� Dr Kethuri Venkatesh said that they will distribute more thanA�A� 10,000 copies of the book free of cost to students.A�
