No Script, No Calendar: Many Reasons Behind Shruti’s Exit
Chennai: Shruti Haasan had to exit from the much talked about mega budget movie Sangamithra, otherwise billed as a legend a la Bahubali, due to non-fixation of proper schedule and particulars of her role.
According to the actress’ spokesperson, she had not “received a proper bound script or a proper date calendar”.
An official statement of the actress reads: “Shruti has had to unfortunately take a call not to be part of ‘Sangamithra’. Knowing it was a massive undertaking and a long commitment spanning over 2 years, she knew the importance of her training, a comprehensive script and proper date calendar.
“She hired and started training with one of the best combat trainers April onwards to make sure she was ready in time for shoot. Despite her enthusiasm and commitment to ‘Sangamithra’, she has had to give the film a miss since the makers of the movie have not finalized her part- i.e. the action part and dubbing. The deal has some lacunae and the producers have not come up with a solution despite repeated requests” the statement added.
Sources said the remuneration as well as the creative part of her role were also reasons for her abrupt exit. The makers have gone back on some of the commitments they earlier made, it is said.
This is a setback for the young and promising actress who was one of the most sought after actors in the south Indian market. She was reportedly going to essay the role of a warrior princess in filmmaker Sundar C’s mega budget trilingual drama, set in the eighth century AD.
Shruti, already working with her father’s flick Sabhash Naidu, is having five more block-buster projects in Telugu. She has preliminary commitments with Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu and other leading actors’ movies.
