Nitish Kumar Wins Trust Vote

While 131 of members supported the Nitish Government, 108 opposed it.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has won the trust vote in his government on Friday in the State Legislative Assembly.

The victory was largely with the support of BJP, which has 53 members in the assembly.

The NDA coalition headed by Nitish Kumar won with 131 votes in its favour in the 243-member assembly. The opposition, led by Rashtriya Janata Dal, could garner only 108 votes.

Results of the floor test were announced by Speaker Vijay Kumar Chowdhury.

The trust vote was through lobby division.

Meanwhile, opposition parties protested against Nitish Kumar before the trust vote. Congress and RJD leaders held placards and shouted slogans against the Nitish Kumar Government.
