- Beat India by 19 runs in 4th ODI
Ranchi: New Zealand has beaten India in the fourth ODI here on Wednesday evening. Set to score 261 runs for win, India could hit up just 241 runs conceding defeat by 19 runs. Anikhya Rahane was the only Indian batsman to score more than fifty runs. Virat Kohli was the second best with 45. But their effort was not enough to meet the target. With this win, New Zealand has neutralized the lead India had enjoyed before the match squaring it 2-2 in the series of five matches.
New Zealand opener Martin Guptill made a marvellous 72 off 85 balls to put New Zealand on fast track. The second best score, 41, was made by one down batsman Kane Williamson. Tom Latham and Ross Taylor also made good scores. Amit Mishra has taken two wickets for India while Umesh Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dhawal Kulkarni and Axar Patel bagged one wicket each. Among the New Zealand bowlers, Time Southee grabbed three wickets for 40 runs while Trent Bout and Jimmy Neesham took two wickets each. Mitchel Santner and Ish Sodhi bagged one each. India’s captain MS Dhoni who is the native hero could not impress his fans. He was bowled by Neesham at 11. Rohit Sharma has disappointed yet again when he lost his wicket after scoring just 11 runs.
