Naidu swears to create ten Tummalas
Hyderabad, September 2: TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu castigated Tummala Nageswara Rao and his followers in Khammam district for deserting the party when it is in difficulties. Addressing the active workers of the party from Khammam district in a meeting held at NTR Bhavan on Tuesday, Naidu described those who are crossing over to the TRS as rank opportunists who enjoyed positions while the TDP was in power and decided to dump the party when it is in opposition.
Naidu declared that he would create ten leaders in place of one leader who ditched the party. He said he would stand by the party workers in Telangana. The party founded by Yug Purush NT Rama Rao is destined to flourish in both the States. It would come to power in Telangana after the general elections in 2019, he averred. He reminded the workers that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are two eyes for the TDP and he said he would strive to protect both the eyes. He flayed the party leaders who switched over to the ruling party in Telangana for want of moral values that even ordinary workers of the party proudly possess.
A number of frontline leaders and second rung leaders from Khamam district attended the meeting organized particulary to inculcate confidence in the party workers in the wake of desertions by established and senior leaders who were supposed to be the backbone of the party till the other day.
The onus of protecting and strengthening the TDP in Khammam districts falls on Nama Nageswara Rao whose bête noire was Tummala Nageswara Rao. Tummala left the party he worked for 33 years only on account of his long standing rivalry with Nama. Naidu spoke to the workers well ahead of Tummala’s scheduled date for joining the TRS in the presence of party chief K Chandrasekhara Rao (KCR) on September 5 or 6.
