Naayini Narasimha Reddy no more

  • Nayini breathed  his last  at 12.24 a.m. on Thursday
  • Shifted to hospital after he faced breathing problem with lung infection
  • Strong Telangana leader, participated in movement in 1969 and 2001

Hyderabad: Former Home Minister of Telangana Nayini Narsimha Reddy had his last breathe at Apollo Hospital in the early hours of Thursday (12.24 am) due to post Covid complications, according to a hospital statement. He was 86 years old. Nayini, born on 23 May 1934 in Devarakonda of old Nalgonda district moved to Hyderabad in 1970 and became a trade union leader. He was three times MLA for Musheerabad constituency representing Janatha party and TRS. He never supported BJP or INC in his lifetime.

Nayini Narasimha Reddy joined TRS party in 2001 and worked as Minister of Technical Education during 2005-08 in late YSR’s coalition government. He was later made first Home Minister for T state by CM kCR for his efforts in the State formation in 2014. He was as MLC from Governor’s quota when he had his last breathe.

CM KCR, IT Minister KTR, Rajya Sabha MP Santosh, Finance Minister Harish Rao visited the hospital and expressed condolences to family members. CM has ordered for a state funeral for his close aide who is survived by wife Ahalya Reddy, son Devender Reddy, daughter Sumantha reddy and son-in-law Srinivas Reddy (GHMC Corporator).

Nayini never left his base of trade union which gave life for his political career until his last breathe. He was still holding the President post for Hindu Mazdoor Sangh  irrespective of his political posts.

For 30 years he was in Janatha party and later joined in TRS and became one of the close associates for CM KCR who used to call the former, ‘Narsanna’. KCR was seen consoling Nayini’s son-in-law Srinivas Reddy at the hospital.

Nayini on a motor byke is a popular sight for the people living in Musheerabad, Chikkadpalli and the surrounding areas to behold. He was a mass leader. Whenever the workers have any issues, he was in the forefront. His high-pitched voice is familiar in political and social circles.
