Muslim Reservations: 5 BJP MLAs Suspended From T Assembly
Hyderabad: Telangana Assembly witnessed an uproar over the Reservation bill which provides 12% quota for economically and socially backward Muslims.
BJP MLAs were suspended from the Assembly after they created ruckus opposing the reservation bill. Though Speaker Madhusudana Chary requested repeatedly, BJP MLAs came into the well of the House and continued the protests which lead to the suspension of 5 sitting BJP MLAs from the assembly.
Telangana Government called for a special Assembly session today to convene 12 percent reservations to the Muslims in educational and Government jobs.
Bill got positive nod from the state cabinet yesterday but it should be approved by the Centre too. KCR urged Modi government to take up the issue. KCR said that their Government made the reservation bill in accordance with the TN model of 69% quota for ST’s ,SC’ s and OBCs including Muslim and Christian minorities. The proposed reservations to various categories should be incorporated in the 9th schedule of the Constitution so that the courts cannot question the issue.
BJP gave a call for CHALO ASSEMBLY on Monday against the bill which it says is unconstitutional.
