MSR hails KCR’s schemes
- Regrets he couldn’t be a Governor
- Telangana statehood because of Sonia
Hyderabad, January 15: Senior Congress leader M Satyanarayana Rao today lauded Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his welfare schemes.
Talking to mediapersons here on the occasion of his birthday at his residence here, MSR observed that God should give KCR complete energy to implement the schemes for people’s welfare and development of the State on all fronts. “Though I aspired to become Governor, I did not succeed”, he said, adding his senior colleague and MP Palvai Goverdhan Reddy tried his best to get him elevated to the post of the Governor, but the AICC high priests vetoed the proposal, he deplored. However, MSR maintained that the Telangana achieved statehood as AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi had taken courageous decision to bifurcate united Andhra Pradesh.
MSR said there was no need to change Sonia Gandhi at the national level, but there is a need for changing leadership in Telangana Congress, he added. Referring to Congress rout at national level and many States, he expressed concern that the State party leadership could not convince the people of Telangana that the Congress alone fulfilled their six decades old desire for separate State. In future, collective efforts by party leaders would help the Congress to return to power, he added. (NSS)
