New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met medal winners and participants of recently concluded Rio Paralympics 2016 at 7 RCR in New Delhi on Thursday.

Prime Minister Modi appreciated their efforts and accomplishments.

In Rio Paralympics, India won two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal. Devendra Jhajharia won gold medal in Javelin Throw and MariyappanThangavelu got gold medal in High Jump.

Deepa Malik won silver medal in Shotput and Varun Bhati won bronze medal in High Jump event.

Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel was present on the occasion.

After meeting Paralympians, Modi in a tweet said, he is delighted to meet the Indian contingent who made the country proud at the Paralympics.
