Modi To Induct Ram Madhav Into Cabinet!?

If things go as expected, RSS leader and BJP’s national general secretary V Ram Madhav, the think tank of PM Modi’s core team, is all set to enter into the Union Cabinet. He would first be made to finish the incomplete Rajya Sabha term of Vice-President-nominee M Venkaiah Naidu and then be made the Union Minister. Modi wants to give his man the important portfolio of External Affairs, taking it away from Sushma Swaraj on her health grounds.

Amaravati: If things move as expected, BJP’s national general secretary and Telugu Bidda, V Ram Madhav, would soon be the part of Modi’s Cabinet. He would be stepping into the shoes of M Venkaiah Naidu who has more than three years term as Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan. Madhav would be first made to fill this vacancy and then be inducted into the Central Cabinet. It is said that Modi is also planning to give the young leader the prime post of External Affairs, in which our Telugu Bidda is an expert. Modi is planning to take away the portfolio from senior minister Sushma Swaraj, another known loyalist of BJP’s senior leader L K Advani.

Ram Madhav is part of the team that had been building international relations and image for Modi. He is said to be playing key role in fixing the foreign tours and preparing the speeches. Modi now wants the young leader from his think tank to come to the foreground and play key role in the government affairs too.

The possible elevation of Ram Madhav is seen as an opportunity for the BJP leaders in the two Telugu States, more in Andhra Pradesh. The leaders from the State are forming queues to meet and greet Ram Madhav in the days to come.

The sources in the BJP said that Ram Madhav wants the BJP in Andhra Pradesh to own the dominant Kapu community. The plan is strongly supported by senior leaders like Kavuri Sambasiva Rao and Daggubati Purandheswari, who have been projecting MLC Somu Veerraju and former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana to take over the party’s mantle in the State, an issue pending for over one year due to pressure from Venkaiah Naidu.

The Kapu leaders in BJP are already part of former minister Mudragada Padmanabham’s agitation for BC reservations. Several of the Kapu leaders even from the BJP are now actively participating in the plan for scheduled Chalo Amaravati to begin at Kirlampudi on July 26. Though the police have sealed all the roads leading to Kirlampudi, the home town of Mudragada Padmanabham, the Kapu leaders are planning to organize the event as per schedule, in which BJP Kapu leaders are playing a dominant role.

“The success of the Kapu movement in the State would be the success of the BJP. The party can now make inroads into the community, which is deprived of leadership till now,” asserted a senior BJP leader who is now part of the Kapu movement.
