MLA Sends Proxy To His Constituency
Mumbai: A strange incident involving a Shiv Sena legislator came as a rude shock to the party.
One of the MLAs, representing drought-hit district of Osmanabad, allegedly sent a proxy to a village in his constituency to talk to distressed villagers.
Gautam Chabukswar sent a former corporator in his place. The former corporator Yashodhar Fanse was introduced to villagers as MLA Chabukswar. A news channel claimed that it has access to video footage of Fanse pretending to be their elected representative.
Shiv Sena launched the ‘Shiv Sampark Abhiyan,’ in which all party MLAs’ were asked to visit the drought-hit areas in the State. As Maharashtra is reeling under drought, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray took up to this task.
While Thackeray asked 40 MLAs to visit the drought-hit areas, nearly 27 did not even bother to go.
As the programme did not turn put as they planned, Thackeray reportedly pulled up the MLAs for not doing their duty.
Meanwhile, the BJP, its alliance partner in the government, slammed its ally over the incident.
Congress leaders too expressed their shock over the incident. It criticized Shiv Sena of rubbing salt in the wounds of the farmers.
Reacting to the incident, Shiv Sena leader and MP Arvind Sawant said that the whole party couldn’t be blamed for one person’s mistake.
