Minister Rules Out Power Cuts In TS
Hyderabad: Asserting that there were no power cuts in the state as the government has taken all measures to tide over power crisis, Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday informed the Assembly that the State government was offering uninterrupted power supply to the State.
The minister said the government has ensured that any sort of power cuts for an hour or so will be intimated to the consumers through mobile phone messages.
During Budget session of Assembly the minister lashed out at the Opposition for frequently disrupting the proceedings and making false allegations against the government.
a�?Better you keep calm and make constructive suggestionsa�?, he asked the Opposition members and asked them not to come in the way of House proceedings.
The minister said the TRS government solved the power crisis in just six months and kept the promise of providing uninterrupted power supply to industries, agriculture and domestic consumers. He said the government was producing 1,426 mw of solar energy and focusing on thermal power production to cater to the growing needs of consumers.
Keeping in view the actual demand and supply and future needs, the government was taking steps for thermal power production. He said works related to Bhadradri and Yadadri power plant construction will go on.
a�?As we cannot rely much on Solar energy alone, the government has come forward to go in for traditional thermal power production,a�? he added.
Jagadish Reddy also said the State government was ready to join Uday scheme of the Centre and a letter has been written in this regard. However, he clarified that the State will not spend funds under Uday scheme.
He also said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was committed to regularise the services of contract employees and offer jobs to dependent families in the Singareni Collieries.A�
