Mini Sewer Jetting Machines Introduced In Telangana
Hyderabad: As the rainy season is fast approaching, twin cities are under the threat of overflowing of drains, open man holes and potholes that create problems while driving during the rainy season. Though the government has warned to fine people who make potholes on the roads nobody is willing to talk about the existing ones.
And the situation of sewers is alarming. As manual scavenging is the only alternative till today, the government has introduced 70 mini sewer jetting machines on ‘World Environment Day.’ This is the first time that bacteria free dresses and mini-sewer jetting machines have been introduced in the country to the operators. As part of Swachh Bharat, the government has taken measures to eliminate manual scavenging from the system.
Each vehicle cost ₹ 26 lakh and the SBI gave a loan of ₹ 20 lakh and the entrepreneur has to invest Rs. six lakh to own the machine.
The idea of these vehicles was developed by DICCI, an organisation which works for the betterment of Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes.
“As we are living in a developing nation, manual scavenging should be abolished and safety for the labours should be taken care so we have launched these Mini Sewer Jetting Machines for the convince of labour and public,” the Municipal Administration Minister K. T. Rama Rao said.
Various Ministers from the Telangana Government participated in the event.
