MIM bags two wards in BMC elections
Hyderabad: All India Majlis Ithehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has opened its account in the prestigious Bruhan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.
For the first time, the MIM has won two seats in the Corporation. With this, the MIM, which was confined to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, made a maiden entry into Mumbai. The MIM fielded its candidates in 59 places out of 227 wards and won in Cheetha Camp and Byculla wards.
Political analysts predicted that the MIM would win six to eight seats. The MIM has won in Aurangabad and Byculla constituencies in 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections. The MIM dream has come true with its entry into Mumbai Corporation.
