Mayor launches Rs 5 meal scheme at Borabanda

  • GHMC plans more centres in twin cities

Hyderabad: Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, along with his deputy Baba Fasiuddin, inaugurated Rs 5 meals scheme at Borabanda on Thursday.

Addressing the media later, the mayor said the meal scheme was already being implemented at 50 centres in different parts of the twin cities. As per the directions of the state government, the GHMC was planning to increase the  number of these centres to 150 in the near future.

The GHMC will be spending around Rs 30 crores for the meals scheme that will benefit about 50,000. The GHMC was identifying more places where this scheme could be implemented for the poor.
