Kala’s Open Letter To Jagan On Meeting Modi

AP TDP president Kala Venkatarao wrote an open letter to YSR Congress chief Jagan asking him to reveal the agenda behind his meeting with PM Modi.

Amaravati: Telugu Desam AP unit president and Minister for Energy, K Kala Venkata Rao, on Saturday wrote an open letter to YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy asking him to reveal the agenda behind his meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The TDP chief wanted to know why Jagan had visited Delhi keeping his appointment with Modi as secret till the last minute. He also wanted to know if the memorandum that was released to the media after the meeting was actually submitted to the Prime Minister or not. He wanted to know why the issue of special category status was at the end of the note and not in the beginning if the YSR Congress was fighting for it. He also sought to remind Jagan of the promise to make all YSR Congress MPs to resign on the special category status demand. He wondered how Jagan could support the NDA in the Presidential elections if its MPs quit their posts.

Drawing comparison between Jagan and Vijay Mallya, the TDP leader alleged that half of the corruption cases against Jagan were proved as all his properties were already attached. He wondered how an economic criminal could meet the Prime Minister but for his MLA post. He also wanted to know whether the Prime Minister had asked for the YSR Congress support for the Presidential elections. If not, what made Jagan to announce it if it was not to save himself from the CBI cases.

The TDP chief pooh-poohed Jagan’s claims on the special category status and his party’s commitment to the issue as being claimed. He felt that Jagan had exposed his sincerity in politics and to special category status demand in his visit to the national capital and maintained that people would not take him seriously henceforth.

Mahila Congress Leader Sends Bangles To Modi

AP Mahila Congress president had sent dozens of bangles to Modi blaming him for the brutal killing of Indian soldiers by Pakistani forces. She alleged that 250 soldiers have lost their lives during Modi’s regime

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Mahila Congress president Sunkara Padmasri had sent dozens of bangles to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his failure to protect the soldiers on the Pakistan border. She said that 250 Indian soldiers were killed during the last three years of Modi’s rule which reflected his failure to handle the nation. She further blamed the prime minister for trying to gain sympathy from the sacrifices of the soldiers along the Pakistan border.

As a mark of protest, the Mahila Congress leader collected bangles from the people on the roads and sent them to the prime minister. She blamed the prime minister for his inept handling of the demonetization which had hit the people of the nation badly. The economy was badly hit by the failure of Modi’s government in handling the demonetization, she said.

She took a dig at Union Minister Smriti Irani for sending bangles to former prime minister Manmohan Singh in the past and wondered why the minister was now silent. She said she had decided to send a pack of bangles to the prime minister only to remind the BJP leaders of their silence to the failures of Modi government.

She criticised the Modi government for turning a blind eye to the border when the Pakistan soldiers walked over 200 meters into the Indian territory and beheaded the soldiers. This had totally exposed the inexperience and inept handling of both internal and external affairs by the Modi government, she said.

Modi Warns Pak Of Retaliatory Action For Mutilating Bodies Of Indian Jawans

Pakistan allegedly mutilated the bodies of two Indian soldiers. PM Modi warns Pak of retaliatory action. Pak denied the allegation that mutilated the bodies.

Jammu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that there would be suitable response to Pakistan for mutilating the bodies of Indian jawans. Pakistan has denied that it had mutilated the bodies.

In an unprovoked firing by Pakistan on Monday morning two Indian jawans were killed, said the army. Saying that the bodies of the jawans were mutilated, army has warned Pak of “appropriate response” for the despicable act. One army jawan and a constable of the Border Security Force who were a part of the joint patrolling team between two forward posts in the Krishna Ghati sector along the Line of Control were attacked by Pakistan, said Northern Command in a press release.

The incidents only add to the tensions between India and Pakistan, as India is miffed by a Pakistani Court awarding death sentence to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav. He was sentenced on the allegations that he was a spy which India denied. Pak also denied diplamantic access to Jadhav, who was a former naval officer more than fifteen times.
Meanwhile, the cease fire declared by India and Pakistan along the Line of Control,a defacto border, in 2003 has become futile over the last two years with frequent violations. On the top of it, Indian military bases are regularly being targeted by terrorists form across the border. Just last week there was an attack on Kupawara base.

In response to the attacks by terrorists, India in September last year conducted surgical strikes across the border targeting launch pads used by terrorists in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

KCR Leaves For Delhi With A Host Of Issues

The CM is likely to take up many sensitive issues, enhancement of reservations tp Muslims and STs being one of them.

Hyderabad:  After attending the plenary of Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Friday, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao left for Delhi a day before NITI- Aayog meeting.  It is learnt that he was carrying a list of issues he wanted to take up with central government.  There was news that he would be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi too, to ask for his intervention in some of his pet projects. Primarily, his intention is also to solve the enhancement of quota to Muslims and STs’ which the BJP State unit has been vehemently opposing.

The State officials prepared detailed note on these issues. The main issue the CM would be taking up with PM Modi is forest and environmental clearances for the Kaleshwaram and Palameru- Rangareddy lift irrigation projects, said official sources.

Addressing TRS plenary on Friday, Rao stressing on agriculture and farmers problems noted that he would demand for linking of NREGS to agriculture related works in the country. However, he is likely put this demand before NITI-Ayog strongly, as the party passed a resolution urging the Centre for the same.

President’s assent for the Telangana Land Acquisition Bill is one of the issues that Rao is going to take up when he meets PM and likely to seek his intervention. The Bill passed by the State Legislatvie Assembly was sent to Centre for President’s assent.

“The bill which has been cleared by Home Ministry, is presently pending with Ministry of Law and once CM takes it up with the PM, the Centre will approve and send it to the President,” an official revealed.

The CM is also expected to ask for liberal funding to Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha, as NITI- Aayog already recommended funding for the two flag ship programmes of the State government.  However, the Union ministry did not sanction funds till day.

He is would also explain in the meeting the State’s decision to deposit Rs 4,000 into farmers accounts and start a discussion on the issue.

As reservations have become a prickly issue, the CM is likely to request the government to give liberty to State governments to enhance the quota as per local needs.

Modi-Shah Plan: Big Push For Hindutva Ahead Of 2019

The Modi- Amit Shah duo whose social engineering game plan has yielded rich dividends in UP polls, has reportedly eyed on aggressive Hindutva agenda for an all-India appeal. ‘caste equations differ from state to state.
  • Ready for gallows for Ram temple: Uma Bharati

New Delhi: Fire brand Union minister Uma Bharati said she is ready for any kind of sacrifice for the construction of a ram temple at Ayodhya. She was speaking to reporters after meeting Yogi Adityanath, Chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

“Ram temple is a matter of belief for me and I have immense pride in it… if I have to go to jail for it I will go, if I have to hang myself for it I will do it..If I am executed for it, I am ready,” the foremer Chief minister of Madhya Pradesh remarked.

Uma Bharati was an active participant in the ram temple movement and her controversial remark of “aur ek dhakka maro.. “ when the historic Babri Masjid was razing to ground by the Hindu zealots in 1992 strirred up a row and landed her in legal trouble.

It is quite obvious that BJP leadership is vigorously and methodically pushing the Hindutva agenda before the 2019 general elections and the Uma Bharati and others were said to be tasked with whipping up of Hindu sentiment. The warning of Chattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh that those who kill cows will be hanged to death; the lynching of a 55-year old man in Alwar distict of Rajasthan by the alleged cow vigilantes and the controversy thereafter, Yogi Adityanath’s Hindutva push and the controversies he has been sparking off each passing day are some of the examples of late. The Modi- Amit Shah duo whose social engineering game plan has yielded rich dividends in UP polls, has reportedly eyed on aggressive Hindutva  agenda for an all-India appeal. ‘caste equations differ from state to state. Local problems too vary. To beat out incumbency factor and win in as many states as possible in 2019 require a uniform all India strategy. The only way to strike a chord in the entire country is to touch upon the emotional issue and ram temple is the option. The temple issue has helped BJP rise big in Indian politics. So, to bank on a tested ground is better and that is what BJP is doing now” a senior Congress leader felt.

Narendra Modi who is seeking a re-election is now on upper note following the landslide win in UP. The Congress- which is down miserably- has to make a herculean effort for a comeback in the next two years. The problem for Modi may come from regional and smaller parties which are expected to gain much in their respective states and domains. Mr Modi certainly needs a strategy that could influence pan India and hence the polarization of Hindutva forces and the vigorous push of the agenda.

BJP Gears Up For 2019 Lok Sabha Polls

This campaign would be launched on April 6th, the foundation day of BJP and continue till the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar on April 14th.

Rama Theertha

New Delhi: BJP seems to have been inspired by the idiom early bird catches the worm; it has already started gearing up for 2019 general elections.  After huge wins in four states in the recently held Assembly elections, the executive body of Bharatiya Janata Party is strategising to get hold of the 120 Lok Sabha seats that they lost in 2014 elections.  The executive body plans to nominate the senior and popular leaders in the party in different regions to create awareness and campaign about the success of the schemes implemented by Modi as Prime Minister. This campaign would be launched on April 6th, the foundation day of BJP and continue till the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar on April 14th.

Orders were issued to senior party leaders, ministers to visit these constituencies, and personally make the awareness campaign a success. The BJP which lost these constituencies in 2014 aspires to regain them by strengthening their foundations.

The party MPs would participate in the campaign in those Lok Sabha constituencies assigned to them. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not participating in this campaign. The External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj too will not take part in the campaign due to health reasons.  Itinerary were drafted for  party president Amit Shah in Hyderabad, Rajnath Singh in Kolkata South, Textiles Minister Smriti Irani- Kolkata North and Amethi,   Arun Jaitley – Bangalore rural, Nithin Gadkari – Nizamabad, Uma Bharathi – Howrah, Law Minister Ravi Sankar Prasad – Hooghly  and others to  take  part in the campaign.

The leaders would focus chiefly on GST, National Commission for socially and Educationally Backward Classes, Bhim App (Bharat Interface for Money) that can be used by thumb impression and having many benefits.  The name of the app has been carefully chosen; it is intended to remind the name of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s and make an impression on the dalits and down trodden.  BJP also intends to show off their endeavours for uplifting their status. Meetings are being organised under the name of Sakthi Kendra Sammelan in every parliamentary constituencies to strengthen the party cadre.

A parliament member would be present in each Sakthi Kendra.  The party cadre from ten booths in a constituency would represent. The MP’s should give awareness lectures, building local organisation to strengthen support, and interact with the local intellectuals in conferences.

Whatever the BJP’s strategy and endeavour be to win the elections, the question is where the other national parties are?  Building of a strong opposition is one of the democratic necessities.

Healthy Criticism Is Always Welcome, says BJP

Hyderabad: Union minister for Information and broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said the Modi Government always respected the fourth pillar of democracy, its role, responsibility and ideas in taking forward the vision of Transforming India with the single objective of Reform, Perform, Transform and Inform.

Speaking to media at his residence at Banjara Hills, Venkaiah Naidu said the Government has always believed in healthy criticism of its policies and initiatives from all stakeholders including media and press. The aim has always been to debate and discuss the issues to deliver Good Governance.

“This government welcomes dissent, disapproval and differences of opinions and perceptions. However, this should not be used as a means to flare up passions of anti-national sentiments, thereby creating an environment of false reality and indulging in manufactured dissent,” he said.

The Union minister asserted that innocent minds and youth of the nation should not be misled from hate slogans, fashioning dissent movement against state institutions. Universities should be knowledge hubs and temples of learning and not become the instigation factories of disruption and chaos.

The Modi government has been using social media at unprecedented speed and scale to gauge public feedback and sentiments leading to positive course corrections in policies and initiatives. The platform of MyGov has brought about a new medium of participatory governance, Naidu said.

Criticising the Congress, the Union minister said emergency imposed in 1975 was a blot for the freedom of press in the country. Emergency was the worst form of attack on freedom of expression and Constitutional Rights.

Such a party is now talking of freedom of expression. The Congress has repeatedly refused to learn from the bitter lessons of the past where it humiliated the basic principles and constitutional provisions of freedom of speech and expression, he said adding that they keep on ranting on muzzling of dissent in public spaces and educational institutions.

What they do not realise is the great disservice they are rendering to the nation by raising the false alarm bells of non-existent issues. There have been many instances wherein, the Congress during their rule arm twisted media and citizens for expressing their views, he alleged.

The Union minister said it is blatantly false and unfair to allege that Modi Government is stifling the freedom of expression. Instead of raising non-issues in the context of fast growing disconnect with the people, Congress needs to introspect and reiterate its commitment to democratic way of functioning and in a responsible manner, Naidu said

Ayodhya Dispute: Can Modi Succeed Where PV Failed?

Sanjaya

New Delhi: What the Supreme Court said on Tuesday on the desirability of resolving Ayodhya Ram Mandir dispute outside the court through mediation was tried by former Prime Ministers Chandra Sekhar and PV Narasimha Rao in 1992. While Chandra Sekhar’s government was short lived, PV’s attempt was foiled by the BJP which was bent upon felling the disputed structure, Babri Masjid.

Go back by 15 years and read the old newspapers. The then prime minister PV Narasimha Rao had negotiations with heads of Hindu shrines, matts and Islamic religious scholars. He employed Tantrik Chandra Swamy, Media Advisor and IAS officer PVRK Prasad who met several Sankar Acharyas and many other Hindu religious leaders.

The Chief Minister of UP at that time was Kalyan Singh who promised to the prime minister that no untoward incidents would be allowed to happen. He told the court also that no harm would be done to the disputed structure. When it was announced that Kar sevaks will  be gathering at Ayodhya in large numbers, the government of India has sent para-military forces and kept them ready to be deployed as desired by the chief minister. But Kalyan Singh did not make use of them. The Union Government approached the Supreme Court requesting for extraordinary powers to intervene in the matter. But the apex court has refused to grant the request of the union government and, instead, appointed an observer to monitor developments at Ayodhya. The Karsevaks pulled the mosque down with the Union Government watching helplessly. It was a known fact that the top BJP leadership and Hindutva forces, beside UP government, were part of a big conspiracy.  Soon after the Babri Masjid was felled, the Union Government had dismissed four BJP governments in UP, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. While UP government was dismissed immediately after the demolition of Babri Masjid on 6 December 1992, the three other state governments were sacked on December 15. Opposition leader Atal Behari Vajpayee described the decision as a mortal blow to democracy.

Had the BJP given a reasonable time to the then central government to try negotiation process to resolve the dispute, history would have been different.  But it is now an irreversible part of history that the Babri Masjid was demolished, BJP has improved its electoral performance and PV was thrown into political dustbin by Sonia Gandhi and the Congress Party making him responsible for the destruction of the mosque. It was intended to appease Muslims by blaming PV and making him a scape goat instead of taking on the BJP for its mischief in demolition of Babri Masjid.

Now that the same BJP, which foiled an attempt to settle the dispute amicably through mediation when it was in opposition, is in power both in Delhi and Lucknow, it should be possible to hold negotiations with Muslim Personal Law Board representatives and other parties to the dispute. If at all a problem of this nature has to be resolved through mediation, it has to be now when BJP is in power. The suggestion given by the Chief Justice of India can be treated as a last opportunity to solve the dispute failing which the apex court will have to take the call.

But the fact of the matter is that the dispute can never be resolved through negotiations for the same reason cited by the highest court of the land- it is a sentimental and emotional issue. That is why the apex court has to take the responsibility and give a decision considering all the aspects. The political parties and religious organisations have to prepare all sections of the society to accept the decision of the SC bench. That is the only way out.

A new India that is about opportunities for the poor….The poor are saying, we want to progress and we seek the opportunity from you.” He described BJP’s massive victory as an opportunity to serve the people.

The PM said the BJP governments would work for all regardless of some people not voting for the party. The BJP had won huge majorities in UP and Uttarakhand. It is forming governments in Goa and Manipur as well. The BJP had won 312 out of 403 seats in UP Assembly. 13 more seats were won by its allies. It is a remarkable victory for Modi after his historic win in 2014 parliamentary elections. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar was asked to go to Panaji as chief minister of Goa.

The choice of UP Chief Minister is going to be crucial since it is a very important State which has 80 Lok Sabha seats. Modi Yet To Condemn Racial Attack On Srinivas In Kansas

New Delhi: American President Donald Trump broke his week-long silence on the killing of Srinivas Kuchibhotla, a tech professional from Hyderabad, in a shooting incident in Kansas City last Wednesday, Feb 22. In his address to the joint session of the Congress, Trump said,’Recent threats targeting Jewish community centres and vandalism of Jewish cemeteries, as well as last werk’s shooting in Kansas City, remind us that while we may be a nation divided on politics, we are a country that stands united in condemning hate and evil in all its forms.’  The Twitter-savvy president had to wait for a week to condemn the brutal hate crime against an innocent Indian. Better late than never.

But Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not yet reacted. An equally Twitter-friendly politician, Modi had time to talk about graveyards and crematoriums in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh to create a wedge between the Hindus and the Muslims, but did find time to tweet a condemnation of the ghastly murder of an Indian at Kansas City in the US. However, his foreign minister, Sushma Swaraj, has been pro-active and tweeted her condolence message within hours of the incident and rushed Indian diplomats to Kansas City to be of help to the bereaved family.

But Modi did not utter a word except appealing to the visiting delegation of the Congressmen to allow meritorious people from India to work in the US without any visa hassles. In fact, India has clarified that it has not issued any kind of demarche, a diplomatic protest, to the US in the wake of the killing. Gopal Baglay, Spokesman of the Ministry of External Affairs, said both the government’s are in regular touch and have been exchanging notes. The realpolitik, however, happens behind the scenes.
