Mahabubnagar happy with KCR visit
- CM assures slum dwellers of houses, water, toilets
- All promises to be delivered within 4 months

Mahabubnagar, January 18: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today assured slum-dwellers here to provide housing, drinking water facility and toilets to them in some four months.
During his first to the backward district, which was facing many problems, including housing, drinking water, irrigation waters, roads and infrastructure here, the Chief Minister KCR visited some slums and people of old Palamur area. He assured them of returning to the town after eight days to lay a foundation stone for a housing project and toilets. He said his government will construct houses for the people at their own places and live up to their expectations. Besides, he also promised to create more employment opportunities to the youth.
Stressing the need for creating awareness among the people to mitigate poverty, he called upon them to fight against problems unitedly. Unless you wage a fight problems will not be solved, he maintained. Interacting with people he sought to know about their problems and assured them of speedy redressal of the same.
Stating that he would get Srisailam waters to cater to the drinking water needs of Mahbabubnagar town, KCR directed the officials to set up an RO plant for the purpose. He also directed the officials to construct houses for the poor and needy in three to four months. The Chief Minister expressed concern that the people lack basic facility of toilets and the government will soon address the problem in the town. He also asked the youth to focus on self-employment rather than depending upon the government. The CM directed the Collector and officials to expedite the process of the works and address their grievances. (NSS)
