Lokesh Reports on Welfare Cell in Politburo Meeting
- 14,300 applications seeking help
HYDERABAD: TDP youth leader Nara Lokesh today submitted a report on party workers Welfare Cell in Politburo meeting held at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Saturday.
TDP president Chandrababu Naidu chaired the meeting, which was attended by the politburo members.
Lokesh informed that under TDP workers Welfare Cell program, 54-lakh party activists’ names were registered in two states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In the report, Lokesh stated that the cell has received 14,300 applications seeking financial help for education and medical treatment. So far, the cell has cleared 9, 300 applications, he said.
The cell has sanctioned funds for education to some 123 party activists in Andhra Pradesh, while 131 in Telangana. Similarly, 170 workers got financial help in Andhra Pradesh, while 286 workers in Telangana for different works, he said in his report.
The cell has conducted 10 recruitment melas for children of party workers and some 465 youth has got jobs in different institutions as per their efficiency and quality, Lokesh informed politburo. Besides, he said he had personally handed over insurance amount to the families of 49 party workers who were killed in different road accidents. (NSS)
