Leaders, people pay homage to PV
Hyderabad: Leaders and people from all walks of life paid homage and offered floral tributes to late Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao on the occasion of his 12th death anniversary on Friday at PV Ghat on the Necklace Road.
Among those who visited the PV Ghat and paid their homage include Union Minister Bandaru Dattatraya, Assembly Speaker Madhusudana Chary, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy, V. Hanumanth Rao and others.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said P V made the nation to stand strong economically by introducing economic reforms when it was facing financial troubles.
He said he had personal intimacy with PV who was a linguist. It was a matter of pride to say that such an intellectual was from Telugu soil.
The Congress cadre paid tributes to PV at Gandhi Bhavan. TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi, general secretary Premlal, former whip T Jagga Reddy and others participated in the programme. The leaders recalled the services rendered by PV to the country. -NSS
