KTR seeks Jaitley help for Warangal textile park
Hyderabad: Telangana Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao says a mega textile park will be launched in Warangal city.
Speaking to media persons in Delhi after meeting Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, KTR said on Thursday that he had sought help for setting up the textile park. It was a promise made in the AP Reorganisation Act. “We have apprised Jaitley of the problems arising out of GST implementation across the nation”, he said.
The GST will have adverse effect on the Telugu film industry with regard to payment of uniform tax slab. Film industry was paying 7% tax for short films and 14% for major films and uniform tax will hamper the film production interests in the state, he informed Jaitley.
KTR also stated that the infant state has become No. 1 in Ease of Doing Business and is providing best facilities to investors. He also called on Union Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitaraman and sought cooperation to improve infrastructure in Hyderabad to facilitate large-scale investment in the state.
