Hyderabad, January 15: Minister for Information Technology and Panchayat Raj K Taraka Ramarao on Wednesday held discussions with a delegation of Dubai businessmen here.
The Dubai team called on the minister. On the occasion, the minister has discussed about the government’s plans to construct “Smart Cities” in Telangana State. He is understood to have sought Dubai team’s cooperation to transforming the new State into a Golden Telangana with “Smart Cities”. The meeting assumes significance as Dubai is dotted with smart and enticing buildings on the shore and the team is likely to provide logistical and technical know how to Telangana Government.
Further, the minister apprised the team of prestigious schemes of skyscrapers around historic Hussain Sagar, level separators and multiple roads in Hyderabad for traffic ease, construction of pharma city and film city, techno parks. It is also learnt that the minister touched upon the schemes such as ambitious Telangana Water Grid aimed at providing safe and potable drinking waters to people across the State, Lakes restoration through Mission Kakatiya and Greenery program of Harithaharm and others.
The visitors from Dubai reportedly evinced keen interest on the welfare schemes of Re 1-a-kg rice, pensions to old aged, widows and physically challenged and many other developmental projects of irritation projects. (NSS)
