Kolleru to be developed as eco tourism hub
Amaravati: Kolleru Lake is going to emerge as a major eco tourism hub soon. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials of forests and wild life to prepare an action plan to develop Kolleru as a main tourist centre and to get necessary permission from the Central government. He asked the officials to act tough on smuggling of red sanders.
Addressing a review meeting with officials of AP State Board for Wild Life at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for developing a bird sanctuary, deer and bear parks in the State. He said the biggest tiger protection centre in the State should be developed as tourism spot to attract national and international tourists.
The Chief Minister asked the forest officials to identify a hill to introduce night safari and submit necessary proposals. He stressed the need for extension of forest cover by developing check dams in forests. He said booking and distribution of saplings should be made online to encourage plantation programme.
CMO Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra, Chief Secretary of Forests Anataramu, Chief Secretary of Tourism Nagulapalli Srikant and others were present.
