KCR turns 61: celebrates birthday in Mumbai
HYDERABAD: TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao today celebrated his 61st birthday in Mumbai. On the occasion of Sivarathri festival, KCR visited the famous Siddhi Vinayaka temple in Mumbai and performed special pujas.
KCR cut the cake in Raj Bhavan where Maharashtra Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao presented him with a bouquet and hosted a party. KCR, who is accompanied by party secretary-general and Rajya Sabha member K. Keshav Rao, MPs Jithendar Reddy and Vinod, Advisor to Government Venugopala Swamy, Irrigation expert Vidyasagar Rao, his cabinet colleagues Harish Rao and Jogu Ramanna, MLC Karne Prabhakar and others is likely to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Mr. Rao’s absence from Hyderabad did not deter his followers from celebrating his birthday with gusto by cutting cakes, distributing sweets, bursting crackers and organising blood donation camps in various districts across Telangana and in Hyderabad.
In Telangana Bhavan, the birthday celebrations were attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Ministers Jagadish Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Nizamabad MP K. Kavita. A cake was also cut and distributed among those present. On the occasion, MP Kavita and Minister Jagadish Reddy released an audio CD formed and presented by well-known cine director N. Shankar.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavita complimented Shankar for his gesture. She said her father never celebrated his birthday. “During my childhood, I used to give him chocolates and remind him that it was his birthday. Birthday is just like any other day for him. But, his birthday is special for family members, party activists and followers, but not for him,” she added. (NSS)
