KCR to move into his palace on Thursday
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is all set to move into his newly constructed high-security, palatial new camp office-cum-residence in Begumpet on Thursday. The Chief Minister’s new home sprawls over one lakh square feet and has been fitted with bullet-proof glass ventilators and windows.
It is said that two bedrooms, the CM’s and that of his son KTR’s, too have been fitted with the high-quality glass, and these measures are in tune with the recommendations of state intelligence officials, who suggested the use of bullet-proof glass. The CM’s new camp office will also have a ‘towering’ compound wall to ensure nobody can scale it.
Shabbir Ali lashes out at CM’s opulent lifestyle
Meanwhile, opposition leader in Telangana Legislative Council, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, said that it was insensitive on the part of KCR to move into a posh new bungalow without fulfilling the poll promise of building double bed rooms to the poor and while people were suffering due to ‘note ban and change crisis’ in the state .
Addressing reporters at the CLP office along with Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, MLC, Shabbir Ali questioned KCR where was his promise and commitment to build 2.6 lakh double bed room houses for urban (one lakh) and rural (1.6 lakh) poor in the state. Instead of fulfilling that promise to the poor who voted him to power, the Chief Minister was busy in house warming ceremony of his new five star bungalow.
Shabbir Ali appealed to Governor E S L Narasimhan to abstain from attending KCR’s house warming ceremony and direct him to focus more on welfare of the poor and development of the state rather than display of such lavish and luxurious living at the cost of people’s money.
