KCR: Telangana To Follow TN In Implementing Reservations

He reminded the people that Supreme Court Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar said poll promises have become a farce since they have not been sincerely implemented.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao (KCR) has declared on Wednesday evening that the Government has accepted the recommendations made by Chellappa Commission and BC Commission regarding reservations.He said his Government would follow Tamil Nadu model in exceeding fifty percent reservations cap.

KCR said Telangana Assembly would meet on the 16th to pass a resolution on reservations for BC (E)-Muslims and Tribals. There are reservations for Muslims in Kerala (12 percent), West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Manipur, AP and Telangana. There are more than fifty percent reservations in Tamil Nadu (69), Jarkhand (60),Maharashtra (52) and four North-Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Mizoram which have been implementing 80 percent of reservations for Tribals. He said 16.3 percent of Telangana State are Tribals.

He reminded the people that Supreme Court Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar said poll promises have become a farce since they have not been sincerely implemented. TRS Government will implement all the promises made in the manifesto. He said SC Commission and ST Commission also will be formed soon.
