KCR Suggests NREGA Linked To Agriculture
New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) told the Governing Council of Niti Ayog here on Sunday that his Government has decided to give ₹4,000 per acre to go to the rescue of the farmers. The farmers can use this amount to buy fertilisers, seeds and pesticides. It would help as input investment.
KCR has appealed that crop colonies should be established across the country. There has to be extensive research for improving the yield. He has also suggested that the sheep, fish and dairy businesses should be exempted from Income Tax.
The NREGA should be applied to agriculture, suggested KCR. The Government and the farmers should bear the expenditure fifty-fifty, he said.
