KCR outlines action plan for development
- No corruption, delay in services, collectors told
Hyderabad: In the wake of big administrative reforms coming into force through reorganization of districts, a plan of action for 8 to 10 years should be formulated to see that fruits of development reach the people, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao told collectors on Monday. He asked them to prepare a plan “Know Your District – Plan Your District” with a focus on resources available and works to be taken up.
At a review meeting, he emphasized the need for checking perennial problem of corruption in various departments and delivering services in transparent and speedy manner. The people are watching the governance and feeling that they will get hassle free and non-corrupt services, KCR said, adding, “keeping this in view we need to show improved performance in our works and in implementing the schemes to win their confidence”.
A meeting of district collectors will be called soon, he said. Formation of new districts reduced the work burden significantly and big reforms will sure prove handy in implementing the schemes, the Chief Minister said. Each collector can closely monitor about 2 to 4 lakh families under his purview. Collectors and other officials can monitor easily the schemes with smaller administrative units through delimitation, he noted.
Senior IAS officials should guide and help the new collectors who have to coordinate the implementation of the schemes. He directed the collectors to ensure that the common people get better education and health facilities and farmers get minimum support price for their produce and timely supply of quality seeds and fertilizers.
“The government is for welfare of the people and the officials should discharge their duties by avoiding irregularities, corruption and delay in delivery of the schemes. A plan of action is to be made on the lines of TS-iPASS with an innovative approach and offer better governance. “Our aim is to see that financial position of people improves through programmes. The schemes will not give positive results if there is no proper plan with determination,” the Chief Minister said.
