Kadiyam Srihari fumes at Mothkupally
- Warns of legal action for caste jibe
- Says he would drag Naidu also to court
Hyderabad, January 29: Newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari here on Thursday launched a scathing attack against Telangana TDP leader Mothkupalli Narsimhulu for making derogatory remarks about his caste.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Secretariat, Kadiyam Srihari said, “I belong to Baindla community which is one of the 56 sub-castes in the SC list. I don’t belong to BC community as alleged by the Telugu Desam leader”. Srihari also warned that he would drag Narsimulu and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu to the Court. “I belong to “Baindla” sub-caste in SC communities notified by President of India. I will pull both of them to the court if Chandrababu Naidu failed to respond on Narsimulu’s insulting remarks”, he said.
He also sought to know whether the comments were personal or made on behalf of the TDP. “I was born in a Baindla family and using the same caste certificate during my education from primary level to university and in politics so far”, he said. Kadiam challenged the TDP leader to complain against his caste with Warangal Collector, Court and Election Commission. “Chandrababu should set right his party first as his leaders were switching over to other parties”, he said and suggested that political leaders shun political enmity and meaningless criticism.
When asked, Kadiyam Srihari said he will take charge on Friday and will address the media on Monday or Tuesday after a thorough review of Education department. To another query, Srihari said the CBSE has recognized Telangana Intermediate Board. Srihari said students need not worry as the Telangana Intermediate Board has got recognition. (NSS)
