Jyothi Reddy, a Santi Doota

Warangal: Jyothi Reddy, an NRI who was working in the fields in a village near here, was felicitated on Sunday here with Santi Doota Award. She fought against heavy odds to come up in life and be an example for many others. She visits India twice every year to carry on with a number of initiatives to help the poor and the downtrodden.

Rajya Sabha Member Captain Laxmikant Rao and K Ramachandra Murthy, Editorial Director, Sakshi Media Group, honoured Jyothi Reddy with the award. Ampaseyya Naveen, Central  Sahitya Academy Award for his novels, presided over the well-attended meeting at Vagdevi College.

The Santi Doota Award was constituted by Sirajuddin of Warangal to inspire people to work for peace and tranquility. The award is given every year to distinguished persons by Wold Peace Foundation.
