Justice Deepak Mishra Is Now Chief Justice Of India

Justice Deepak Mishra sworn in as 45th Chief Justice of India on Monday. Deepak Mishra took over from Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar and third person from Orissa to be Chief Justice of India.

New Delhi: On Monday morning, Chief Justice Deepak Mishra sworn in as the 45th Chief Justice of India taking over Justice Jagdish Singh.

Justce Mishra will preside over the top court for 13 months and six days. Mishra became advocate in 1977 and practiced Constitutional, criminal, Civil, Revenue, Service tax matters in Orissa High Court.

He took charge of the office of Chief Justice, Patna High Court in 2009 and of Delhi High Court in 2010.

In 2011, he was elevated as Supreme Court Judge.
