Jupally wants DRDOs to play key role in rural growth
Hyderabad: Telangana State Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has asked DRDOs to play a key role in rural development to achieve self sufficiency. Inaugurating a three-day orientation programme on Wednesday, the minister called upon the defence research labs to coordinate with other wings to provide at least 100 working days for at least 60 per cent of families in rural areas. He expressed concern that despite seven decades of freedom the rural people are still deprived of fruits of development and common facilities and Telangana should be kept away such problem.
This is possible with active participation of DRDOs who should work in tandem with other departments to ensure employment opportunities. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to bring the poorest of the poor into the mainstream by providing them work and move towards golden Telangana path. It is time for the officials to work in that direction to reach out to the people in villages and help them develop gradually, he said.
