Jupally orders action against erring staff
- Two suspended for allowing illegal structures
Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has ordered suspension of two staff members of his wing for dereliction of duty on finding an illegal four-floor building at Pragathi Nagar in Medchal Malkajgiri district. Besides suspending Maulana, a VRO, and Manohar, previous VRO, the minister issued charge memos to Executive Officers Jyothi and Malla Reddy.
The minister made a surprise visit to the village and expressed serious displeasure at the staff concerned for violating norms and encouraging illegal layouts and structures without permission. He warned that the government will not spare such corrupt practices.
The minister directed DPO Suresh to take immediate action against the erring staff and ordered the officials to submit a report on such illegal structures and buildings constructed without permission. He attributed the violation of norms due to lack of regular monitoring and officials colluding with the builders. He said that changes will be made in imposing fine on such illegal structures. New taxation policy in villages will be introduced and taxing methods in Village Panchayats reviewed, he said. A final call will be taken after talking to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said.
The minister expressed satisfaction at the maintenance of a park, swimming pool, sports stadium and community hall in the village and asked other villages to follow suit. He also appreciated the staff for recycling methods to clean the storm waters and reuse them for plantation. Similar process will help in other villages, he said.
