Jupalli Criticises Congress Over ‘Spending’ Funds
Hyderabad: Rural Development Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao on Saturday slammed Congress leader K Jana Reddy for criticising that the TRS Government failed to spend funds of 2016-17 Budget.
Addressing the media at Secretariat here, he took serious exception to Jana Reddy’s remarks that the government was not able to spend funds. The minister accused the previous Congress Government of failing to spend funds during its 10-year regime.
While the TRS Government spent Rs 2,618 crore of 2016-17 Budget, the Congress regime failed to spend Rs 3,757 crore, he alleged.
The State government was giving top priority to rural connectivity and planning to spend Rs 1,000 crore for roads development using NREGA and State government funds for next year. He said job cards are available online and can be downloaded to get employment under the existing schemes.
Pensions are being offered to all the eligible through 2,551 banks and 6,120 post offices at villages and officials are going to disburse the same to those remote villages and tribal habitats without banks, the minister said.
The minister also said an official was suspended for not giving pension to an old person at Panagal mandal. The officials were asked to collect eyesight of the old aged persons, whose finger prints are not proving handy for the pension scheme, he added.
