HYDERABAD: Artistes played a key role in the statehood movement and stood by the TRS till the end to achieve Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said.
Addressing a conclave of the Telangana artistes at Madhapur Art Gallery here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said his government will provide jobs and health insurance facility to the indigent artistes. The artistes were behind the TRS party through its persistent movement for Telangana State, he said, adding that due recognition will be given to them for strengthening the movement to its zenith. “Our aim is to wipe out tears from the faces of the poor and deprived classes and ensure return of smiles on their faces, KCR vowed amid applause.
The Chief Minister recalled some of the incidents took place during the course of statehood movement. At one time, KCR got emotional and said those who extended support to the Telangana movement will be benefited by the government. The Government will come up with a plan to exemplify the government schemes and programs to become a model State in India, KCR remarked. The artistes will now play a new role of taking forward the schemes and programs to the people to transform the State into a golden one, he added. (NSS)
