Jobless youth protest against 75per cent quota for women in teaching
Vidhyarthi Nirudyoga Joint Action Committee took out a rally on Tuesday from the Arts College to NCC Gate demanding that the Osmania University revoke 75% vacancies reserved for women. The organizers claimed the women are hampering chances of men in securing teacher jobs in Government Residential Schools. The reason behind the allocation of lion’s share in the vacancies for women was that schools meant exclusively for girls must have women teachers. So, the Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC), in its notification for recruitment of teachers, allotted all the vacancies in the girl schools for women candidates only. The irate jobless boys aspiring for teacher jobs held a protest and took out a rally to NCC Gate. However, their attempt was foiled by the police.
