Jamia to hold two-day All-India Women’s Conference on Feb 11 and 12
Hyderabad: Jamiatul Mominath (Islamic University for Women) is organizing a two-day All-India Women’s Conference on February 11 and 12 at Eidgah Miralam, near Zoo Park here. Mohd Mahmood Ali, Deputy Chief Minister, Nayini Narsimha Reddy, Home Minister, and Muslim MLAs and MLCs will attend the conference.
Addressing a press conference at NSS here on Wednesday, Janab Syed Shah Noorul Haq Quadri Sahab, Mufti Mohd Hasnuddin, Dr. Muzaffar Hussain Khan Banda Nawazi said the aim of the Jamiatul Mominath was to eradicate illiteracy among Muslim girls. To guide them, the Jamia was conducting weekly and monthly ijtemaath in various parts of the country.
Established in 1991 by Dr Mufti Hafiz Mohd Mastan Ali, with only five girl students, the Jamia is a non-profit organization functioning with service motto. More than 2,500 girl students are seeking education in different departments of this university and among them 350 students are availing its hostel facility and most of them are from various districts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, etc.
“We are conducting training for women on various topics”, they said adding that issues like solving the problems facing the society, Law of Shariat protection and our responsibilities, family disputes and solution, Muslim women and inheritance, duties and responsibilities of husband and wife, Muslim women and business, role of mother in training the children, demand of dowry in marriages and other rituals, rights and duties of women and education awareness among women, would be discussed at the conference. Prominent Islamic woman scholars will participate in the event.
‘National Unani Day’ on February 11
The Union Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeoepathy (AYUSH) and the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) will be celebrating the First National Unani Day on February 11, the birth anniversary of Hakim Ajmal Khan, at Central Research institute of Unani Medicine (CRIUM) in Hyderabad.
Prof Vaidya KS Dhiman, Director General, and Prof Mustaq Ahmed, Senior Consultant of CCRUM, said that Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Yesso Naik will preside over the event. Dr Munnawwar Hussain Kazmi, Director In-charge, CCRUM, said they would also organize a two-day national seminar on skin diseases and cosmetology in Unani medicine, on February 12 and 13. –NSS
