Jagan’s Bulletproof Car Locked Inside At Vizag Airport

The police and the party leaders had some tense moments when they locked out of a bulletproof car that is supposed to carry Jagan to a village in Srikakulam.

Visakhapatnam: Jagan Mohan Reddy, leader of the YSR Congress, was given a rousing welcome at the Vizag Airport on Friday by hundreds of party workers.

Arrived by an Indigo flight at around 10.20 am from Hyderabad, he left for Ranastalam in Srikakulam district, where he will meet the oustees of Vamsadhara Project. He is on a two-day tour to Srikakulam District, the party leaders said.

Even before Jagan had arrived at the airport, the police and the YSR Congress leaders had some anxious moments. The police mistakenly had locked the doors of the bulletproof car, in which Jagan was to travel, leaving its keys inside.

Both the police and the leaders of the party looked worried as to how to meet the exigency. The protocol officers had a quick word with the Superintendent of Police of Srikakulam District. With no alternative, the YSR Congress leaders arranged their own vehicle to take him to Ranastalam.

In the meantime, a vehicle came rushing to the airport on the instructions of T Yoganand, the commissioner of police at Visakhapatnam, giving much relief to the protocol staff and the party cadre.

One joins the party and one quits the party

In a balancing act, former MLA and TDP leader Vasireddy Varadarama Rao joined the YSRCP Party in Srikakulam, while former Congress MLA and the present YSRCP Bheemili Assembly Constituency Coordinator Karri Seetharam left the party.

Sitharam announced his resignation to the YSRCP on Friday in a press conference held in Visakhapatnam. The developments turned significant since they took place while Jagan is on a two-day tour to the region.
