IPL 2017 Finals: Mumbai Indians Won The Third Title

Steven Smith has risen to the occasion, but the sudden collapse of RPS wickets in the last two overs took the match away from them.

Hyderabad:  Mumbai Indians have won the final and achieved the title for the third time in the IPL history. The game came so close that the last two overs completely turned the match.

Steven Smith has risen to the occasion, but the sudden collapse of RPS wickets in the last two overs took the match away from them, vindicating the point that anything can happen in cricket.

Smith made 51 runs in 50 balls with two 4s and two 6s. Mitchell Johnson has taken three wickets and ones in the last over were the turning point of the game. Also, Malinga’s bowling stopped the runs, though he didn’t take any wickets. He bowled four overs with just 21 runs.

“Once a champion is always a champion,” Sachin Tendulkar said about Malinga.

RPS has lost an opportunity in the beginning overs when they dropped couple of catches.

Mumbai Indians won the third title: one in 2013, one in 2015 and now.

Overall, The final match was worth watching.
