Washington (DC): An Indian physician, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, was found dead in a car in Detroit, Michigan. He was 32.

Kumar is the third Indian American to be killed in just 24 hours. A techie couple was killed in San Jose on Wednesday night.

The police found Kumaras body in the passenger seat in his car at a rest area on the highway, a few hours after they received a complaint from Kumaras father, Dr Narendra Kumar, a former president of the American Association of Indian Origin or AAIO.

On Thursday, when Dr Mani Menon, Rameshas colleague, called Narendra about his son not showing up at Henry Ford Hospital, where Ramesh was a resident in urology, Narendra tried to contact his son.

After multiple calls and texts to his sonas phone had gone unanswered, Narendra headed to his sonas apartment. Finding the apartment empty, he alerted police, who wanted him to wait since his son had been missing only for a few hours.

The police found Rameshas car at 5 pm on Thursday, and by 10:30 pm the body was identified. An autopsy was conducted on Friday.

The family doesnat think it was a hate crime, as per reports. The private funeral service will be held on Monday.
