India wins 3rd ODI, clinches series title against Srilanka at Uppal Stadium
Hyderabad, November 9: Hyderabad played host to the third one day international match between India and Srilanka. Indian team won the match by five wickets and bagged the series title with this win. Srilankan team won the toss and chose to bat first and scored 242 runs in 48.2 overs. Jayawardhane’s century was a wasted one as the Indian team chased the runs and scored 245 runs in 44.1 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Kohli’s 53 and Dhawan’s 91 gave a dream run to the team. The packed stadium had a field day cheering and applauding the home team all through the match. Jayawardhane was declared the Man of the Match.
This is the second consecutive win for Indian team in Hyderabad, at Uppal stadium. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao attended the match. He said that BCCI should support promotion of the game by having a cricket ground in every district headquarter in the state. HCA has come forward for support and the government will partake its share for the purpose, he promised.
