India Vs Aus 2nd Test, India collapse on day 1
Bengaluru: There is nothing much to discuss or write about Indian batting who totally failed in facing Australian spin attack. It was O keefe, leg spinner, who damaged Indian innings at MCA, Pune, the turn shifted to Lyon, whose bowling figures stand at 8/50 versus Home team on day 1 of second test played at Bangalore.
From the ball one, Indian players are in dilemma to attack or defend Australian spinners which led to fall of wickets in a line. Except opener Rahul who made 90, there was nothing much from Indian players who contributed to their home team.
India made two changes to the first test, with Abhinav replacing Murali Vijay and Nair in place of Jayanth yadav. Home team won the toss and chose to bat first on a spin and uneven track. Pitch surprised a lot with more turn than expected on day 1 and Aussie spinners with no time read line they should bowl.
Major damage came from off spinner Lyon who became the sixth best spell by an Aussie against any country after picking up last wicket of Ishanth Sharma..
Certainly Indians are on back foot on day one and they should bowl well to come back in the series, on the other hand, Australia looked very confident with a win already in their pocket.
After Indian innings crumbled at 189, Australian openers Warner and Renshaw studied innings with 40/0 at the end of the play. Warner was lucky when he was dropped by Rahane at his individual score 9.
