ICANN meeting concludes
Hyderabad: The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) 57th meeting was held at International Convention Centre at Madapur here from November 3 to 9 with 3,182 delegates from over 125 countries attending the conference and stayed at various hotels in Gachibowli and Madhapur areas.
Cyberabad Police set up a control room at HICC with three Inspectors in three shifts along with supporting force to effectively manage the meeting schedules in HICC and other travel requirements of foreign delegates in the entire Hyderabad city.
Three Bomb disposal teams were pressed into service to ensure the safety of the venue. Anti-sabotage, Bomb disposal team along with sniffer dog were placed to patrol the venue and sanitize conference halls and vehicles. Additional security force was deployed at all the entry and exit gates of HICC to ensure strict compliance of security protocol and to avoid any untoward incident.
IT mobile patrol vehicles and five interceptor vehicles were pressed in to service to ensure the safety of main conference venue, residential hotels of delegates in Hitec city and traffic routes. Special armed police party was deployed at secluded places outside the conference venue to be vigilant round the clock to avoid any untoward incident.
The total force deployed for the smooth and secured functioning of ICANN conference was one ACP, four Inspectors, eleven Sub-Inspectors and twenty Police Constables. ICANN security team and their management have expressed their satisfaction and thanked the Cyberabad police for their efforts in giving incident free security management of the entire conference.
