IAS Third Ranker Says Truth Will Come Out Soon
Madugula, Srikakulam District: Ronanki Gopala Krishna, who secured the third rank in the All India Civil Services Examination, visited his native village on Monday evening.
He is facing a case in the High Court for allegedly submitting a false certificate of being handicapped to get selected in the Civil Services Exam.
Speaking to reporters, Gopala Krishna remarked that when someone achieves something big, like a third rank in the IAS exam, such allegations are common. Till truth comes out, it will not be proper to speak about people who have levelled charges against him.
He maintained that to succeed in life, language is not a big problem, but good communication is a must. Whichever the language in which you choose to write the exam, it must be legible and expressive. He had secured 936 out of 1,750 marks in the main exam. But as he could secure only 165 marks in the interview, he got the third rank. Otherwise, he could have been the topper, he felt.
Gopala Krishna said Bala Latha of Hyderabad was his inspiration.
He gave credit to his father, mother and brother for encouraging him. “My father always wanted to see me as an officer. So I strove hard for 11 years and succeeded in the exams,” he observed.
He clarified that as he had not got a posting yet, he was still working as a teacher. He said once he joins duty, he will work in the fields of education, health, agriculture and women empowerment. Each government school should be upgraded in such a way that all children willingly go there to study, he observed.
