Hyderabad Drugs Bust: Are Children Of Political Leaders Too Involved?
Hyderabad: In what could be a major revelation, names of children of certain political leaders too are emerging in the infamous drugs’ bust, which has been hot news since the last three weeks.
Incidentally, reports of Enforcement Director Akun Sabharwal going on leave had coincided with reports that top guns in the cine field have been bringing pressure on Telangana political leaders to dilute the case against their leading figures, or see flight of the film industry from the State Capital and its environs.
Following intervention of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao himself, Sabharwal has since cancelled his leave.
Possible involvement of political leaders’ wards also strengthens charges that the sensational case was sought to be given a decent burial after making “some small fries” the scapegoats. Police sources disclosed that among those doing drugs were also children of political leaders, including ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and corporation chairmen of both the Telugu States. These people’s representatives are stated to belong to different political parties. Calvin had supplied drugs to political leaders’ sons through middlemen. Doubts are being expressed whether the reason for the recent death of a political leader’s son was an overdose.
Names of wards of political leaders emerged following intense interrogation of Calvin, one of the accused in the drugs case, by the Special Investigation Team set up by the government to inquire into the scandal. Social media too is agog with such reports.
Sources revealed that Calvin was being questioned on Sunday in the presence of an advocate. But when he started giving out the names of political leaders’ sons, the advocate was asked to go outside the room to maintain secrecy. Police say the kids of political leaders too will be issued notices soon to appear before the SIT for interrogation.
It has also been revealed that Calvin and his group personally supplied drugs for rave parties held in resorts on outskirts of the city in Moinabad of Rangareddy district as also Samshabad, Medchal, Shamirpet and Ghatkesar. Names of two young heroines, who are believed to have become addicts, are also doing the rounds. The two are well-known faces in the Telugu film Industry.
