Home Minister announces Rs 40 lakh ex gratia
HYDERABAD: Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy today said those killed in police encounter were the same who involved in Suryapet firing in which one SI was killed while another injured was shifted to Kamineni Hospital near LB Nagar.
In the encounter at Janakipuram, three persons were killed, including two Suryapet firing assailants and one constable Nagaraju. Those sustained serious injuries in the incident were shifted to Kamineni Hospital near LB Nagar are CI Balagangi Reddy and trainee SI Siddaiah.
According to informed sources, the police identified the two assailants as those involved in Suryapet killing incident. Before the encounter, the assailants said to have belittled the policemen by making rounds of the police jeep at Janakipur and Motkupalli area.
Talking to press persons after consoling the ailing policemen at the hospital, Narsimha Reddy said that the two assailants killed in encounter are those involved in Suryapet firing incident. They belong to a rowdy gang of Uttar Pradesh and not terrorists, Reddy said. He announced Rs 40 lakh ex gratia to deceased family and a government job. The Home Minister appreciated the policemen for showing courage.
The Home Minister ruled out that the two killed in the alleged encounter were terrorists. However, he maintained that the State government will curb with iron hand the terror activities in the State. The Government will not allow terror activities and have pressed the special police teams to contain the menace if any, Reddy remarked. Nayani maintained that law and order is under control despite such a few incidents. The Government will provide safety and security to the people in the State, he said. DGP Anurag Sharma also ruled out the possibility of terror gang involving in the Suryapet shoot-out. (NSS)
